sE Electronics announce that the VR1 and VR2 ribbon microphones are now available with a complete accessory package, including a soft case, microphone clip, foam windscreen, and shock mount. Known for their warm, natural sound and impressive versatility, the VR1 and VR2 bring the character of ribbon microphones to everything from guitar cabinets and drums to vocals and strings. Unlike traditional ribbon microphones, which have a reputation for being fragile, both models are designed to handle demanding sources and up to 135dB SPL.
The VR1 delivers the classic character of a passive ribbon, while the VR2 provides 18 dB more output for easier integration with a wider range of preamps and recording setups. Both models also offer an extended high-frequency response reaching 18kHz, compared to the 14kHz point where many traditional ribbons begin to roll off.
