The Recording Academy Producers & Engineers Wing has revealed its 2026–2027 Steering Committee, comprising a distinguished and diverse group of producers, engineers and studio professionals. Building on the strong foundation laid by past committees, this team is dedicated to tackling the most pressing challenges facing today’s recording community and driving forward initiatives that foster continued growth and innovation across the industry.
The 2026–2027 Steering Committee is co-chaired by acclaimed producer/engineers D. “Swagg” Arcelious Harris (pictured in the middle) and Marcella Araica (pictured left). Both bring deep industry expertise and a proven commitment to elevating the craft of music creation and production.

The Committee also includes the following music industry professionals from across the United States: Bryan-Michael Cox, Carl Nappa, Cheryl Pawelski, Daniela Rivera, Jordan Hamlin, Rodney Jerkins, Shake & Bake, and Will Wells. Ex officio members include Recording Academy CEO Harvey Mason jr. and Recording Academy Board Chair Dr. Chelsey Green.

Guided by the Steering Committee, the P&E Wing continues to focus on its core mission of advocating for the rights of music creators, emphasizing issues such as intellectual property protection, accurate crediting, equitable revenue models, and the preservation of artistic freedom. The committee also continues to elevate the role of producers and engineers as essential creative collaborators in recorded music. Additional areas of focus include upholding audio excellence, strengthening industry standards for metadata accuracy, archiving and preservation of masters, investing in music education efforts, and offering professional development opportunities. The P&E Wing is equally dedicated to advancing hearing health awareness, providing education on the dangers of excessive sound exposure, and strengthening collaboration among audio professionals, manufacturers, educational institutions, and industry organizations to promote unity and collective progress on critical issues facing the field.

The Recording Academy's Chief Awards & Global Industry Officer Ruby Marchand (pictured on the right) noted, "The 2026-2027 Steering Committee brings exceptional energy and expertise to the table. Their hands-on experience in today's recording landscape makes them powerful advocates for our community, and they are ready to build on the momentum of our current initiatives. As we outline our roadmap for the year ahead, major points of emphasis include legislative advocacy in Washington, D.C., California and other key regions, continued efforts to ensure streaming platforms feature complete creator credits, and the expansion of our educational programming and outreach."
