Russound at CEDIA Expo 2024

Russound CEDIA2024

Russound, a company with expertise in premium, multiroom audio, is inviting installers to its booth, 2524, Sept. 4-6, at CEDIA Expo 2024. Attendees won't want to miss a sneak peek at Russound's new SMZ8 8-source/8-zone controller amplifier with built-in streamer and SMZ16-PRE 16x16 matrix pre-amplifier with streamer coming soon. Also at the booth will be the D1675 Multichannel Digital Amplifier that is now shipping, and the Cinema Bar 3.0, which is being shown for the first time.

"We understand how important reliable, high-quality audio is to our customers, and they're seeking modern solutions that meet those demands," said Charlie Porritt, CEO, Russound. "Our mission has always been to deliver products that exceed those expectations. This year at our booth, we're showcasing a range of innovative solutions that, like all Russound products, represent the highest quality in the industry. We are committed to equipping our dealers and distributors with the best products to help them deliver exceptional audio experiences to their customers."

The Russound booth will offer attendees a chance to get a first look at the SMZ8, available November 2024. This 8-source/8-zone controller amplifier features a built-in high-res audio streamer with all the popular sources and support for both AirPlay and Google Cast. It's ready for any listening needs, delivering 50 watts per channel and scalable up to 48 zones.

Also being shown for the first time and coming February 2025 is the SMZ16-PRE 16x16 matrix pre-amplifier with a built-in high-res audio stream. It features 16 stereo inputs, which can be used in any combination of up to 16 analog, six digital optical, or four digital coax inputs. Though 16x16, the SMZ16-PRE is expandable up to 16x48 for added flexibility. Both the SMZ8 and the SMZ16-PRE boast an HDMI input (ARC) for connecting to a TV or video source with low latency synchronization to avoid lip-sync issues and integrated DSP with a 7-band parametric graphical EQ with built-in presets for Russound speakers. Both are controllable with Russound's XTS7 wall-mounted color touchscreen, IPK-1 single-gang IP keypad, or the Russound App.

Making its CEDIA Expo debut is the Russound Cinema Bar 3.0, a passive soundbar specifically designed for wall-mounted flat panels 65 inches and larger, featuring 100 watts MS power handling per channel. The soundbar is equipped with three 4-inch full-range drivers, three 1-inch tweeters, and three 4-inch passive radiators, providing robust and room-filling audio with enhanced bass response. Constructed with a reinforced MDF body and isolated audio chambers for each channel, the Cinema Bar 3.0 ensures precise sound quality and durability. It also features an oversized area around the speaker connectors to conceal wiring and can be easily mounted using any available soundbar kit or TV mount with included MicroSlide™ brackets or built-in threaded inserts.

Another highlight of the Russound booth will be its new D1675 Multichannel Digital Amplifier. Part of the D-Series announced earlier this year, the D1675 provides 16 channels of amp and is now shipping. Designed to expand audio systems into more rooms or outdoor areas, it delivers 75 watts per channel in a compact 2RU size. It features easily configurable audio filters for customized sound, multiple input options for flexible system design, and three turn-on modes for energy-efficient operation. This amplifier offers integrators powerful audio performance, source and control flexibility, and streamlined installation, making it an ideal solution for versatile audio setups.

On Sept. 5, join Russound for its 2024 Brand Overview and Audio Innovations training.
