WorldDAB Automotive 2026

How radio stations are surfaced and accessed in the connected car is one of the most active debates in the industry right now. At WorldDAB Automotive 2026, three of the leading voices shaping that conversation are brought togethether - practitioners who have moved beyond the theory and into real-world implementation.

One of the hottest topics in the connected car is brought with "Prominence in in-car user interfaces – goal, challenge, solution". This session explores the German framework developed by the German Media Authorities and the results of a proof of concept with different partners - examining how regulatory principles can be translated into practical implementation, and how the model may inform approaches in other markets. The session concludes with an open Q&A.

The following industry experts shaping in-car user interfaces will talk at WorldDAB Automotive 2026:

  • Veit Olischläger is Head of Technology, Media Management and Public Relations at the Bavarian regulatory authority for new media (BLM), where he oversees the technical development of radio and TV services across Bavaria. He has led and advised on major broadcasting transition projects including DVB-T/T2 and DVB-S rollouts for organisations including ARD, Mediengruppe RTL Deutschland, ProSiebenSat.1, Vaunet and ZDF.
  • Rainer Biehn is Technical Director at Bayerische Medien Technik GmbH (bmt) and has spent his career working at the forefront of DAB+ development and implementation. From system development at the IRT to establishing the DAB pilot project at bmt, he now leads technical work across DAB+, DVB-I, TPEG and TV playout.
  • Benedikt Wiencke is Manager for Automotive Entertainment Solutions at MHP Management- und IT-Beratung GmbH, specialising in next-generation infotainment and media functionality for automotive OEMs. With a background spanning both broadcast technology at WDR and automotive systems development, he brings valuable insight into how radio and media services are integrated into the connected car experience.
